A woman was assaulted during an attempted robbery in Biggleswade on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the attempt on May 18.

The woman was walking along Chestnut Avenue at approximately 9.30pm when she was approached by a man who physically assaulted her and attempted to steal her handbag.

She screamed and the offender then ran off in the direction of the library.

The offender is described as wearing a hooded jacket with a scarf covering his face.

The victim believes that a car drove past as the incident was taking place, so we’re particularly keen to speak to the driver of that car.”
