Man's guilty plea to Christmas Day assault

A Shefford man has pleaded guilty to assaulting three people in an incident in the town on Christmas Day.

Patrick Lawrence of Great Hill, Shefford, aged 27. changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before magistrates at Luton on Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty to assault by beating of Danny Smith, Michelle Smith and Christine Caglar.

He was fined a total of £500 and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.

Mr Harley Jeffery, aged 39 of no fixed abode. is charged with intent to steal and going equipped.

He has pleaded not guilty and the trial is set for September. He was remanded on bail.

He pleaded not guilty to speeding on the A1 at Beeston on September 27, 2015 and the case was dismissed at Luton Magistrates on Friday last week.
