A Shefford drug dealer has been jailed thanks to a special police operation.

Callum Slowey, aged 27, of Axon Paddock, was sentenced to four years and 10 months at Luton Crown Court yesterday (October 9) for conspiracy to supply cannabis and cocaine.

He is the 79th person to have been put behind bars thanks to Bedfordshire Police's Operation Costello.

A spokesman for the force, said: "This sentencing has edged the specialist team forward in meeting the 500 year of jail time milestone which proves their commitment to relentlessly pursuing and dismantling those dealers who bring such misery to our communities.

"Stay tuned for the next sentencing, which will inevitably get them over the mark."
