Suspected thieves crashed getaway car in Biggleswade as police gave chase

Three men have been arrested after they crashed into a wall while attempting to escape from police.

Bedfordshire Police were call to a report of three men acting suspiciously around a vehicle in Swanbourne Close, Biggleswade at around 10.15pm on Thursday, May 6.

When challenged, the suspects made off in a dark coloured car.

Officers responded to the call, and with air support from NPAS, they tracked the car to Hitchin Street, Biggleswade, where the vehicle had mounted a kerb, and collided with a tree and a wall.

A tweet from BCH Road Policing Unit said 'Numerous cat cons [catalytic converters] & tools recovered'.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and are currently on police bail.
