A dog show is being held in Biggleswade this weekend in aid of an organisation that rehomes strays from Greece.

The Zante Strays Fun Dog Show will feature 24 classes for pedigree, crossbreed and fun novelty and is taking place at Bedfordshire Growers in Potton Road.

It is being organised by Vanessa Taylor, who came across the group Zante Strays last year, and she hopes to raise awareness of the work and aid being done with local residents on the Greek island.

The dog show on Saturday, July 25, is expected to attract hundreds of entries. These will start at 10am, with judging starting at 11am.

There will be stalls with pet goods, games and have-a-go games. Dogs can also have fun with the relay game of flyball during the event.

A pet photograher will also be attending.

Zante Strays is a non-profit making organisation which has co-ordinates in the UK, and was started when tourists to the island were concerned about the number of dogs needing rescue.

Last year Vanessa rehomed Chase, who will be at the show. She is holding a second show on Saturday, August 8.
