Donations rolled in at charity gig

MUSIC lovers were able to help a local hospice while they enjoyed a relaxing afternoon and evening at the pub.

The charity gig and family fun day was held at The Bell pub in Sandy and there was plenty to do for people of all ages.

Bands played throughout the day, including The Dave Ellis Blues Band, Progression reggae band and The Whybirds rock band. There was also a bouncy castle for the younger visitors and everyone enjoyed the barbecue.

Money raised on Sunday, May 24 went to St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

The organiser, Alex Small, was pleased with how the charity gig went.

He said: “We donated £1,234 which is more than I expected. If we had donated £500 I would have been happy.

“And there were plenty of people down there. It went really well.”
