They had fun managing their own money to buy drinks at the playground juice bar and some children were very generous and bought drinks for their friends.

Headteacher Anita Whitehurst said: “We were very impressed with the standard of the artwork that the children produced and our Friday afternoon art gallery was very popular and looked amazing.”

Pupils in years 3 and 4 were visited by staff from Barclays Bank who helped the children to complete a value for money taste test on a range of food products. They also helped the children to complete a wants and needs analysis.

Mrs Whitehurst added: “The children also learnt important life skills such as budgeting, using money, calculating change and how to calculate profit margins.

Our art gallery made a profit of over £220 which has been divided equally between classes for the children to decide what to spend it on.”
