A wrestling fan who tried his hand in the ring is organising shows for up and coming talent in the Biggleswade area.
Alex Knowles is running the events to give families access to affordable and fun shows and the first is next month in Haynes.
He said: “I have always been a big fan of wrestling and six years ago went to a wrestling school in Hitchin to give it a go. I soon learnt very quickly that these guys are big, very strong, well trained and I am no wrestler!”
Alex, who is based in Potton, decided to train as a referee and now organises shows for Ultimate British Wrestling, allowing those in training at the Wrestling School the opportunity to showcase their talent against some of the biggest names on the UK scene.
Alex added: “All of our trainee wrestlers are local so it brings in a lot of local support and also allows the community to watch them develop and grow as well as seeing the best of the UK performing as well.
“Our audience are never more than four rows away from ringside and in the heart of the action. They are encouraged to boo and cheer for their heros and we have a lot of interaction with the audience. It’s just a good fun evening out.”
The show at Haynes village hall on Saturday, March 5, will feature The South Pacific Power Couple Dahlia Black and TK Cooper vs Elizabeth and Kyle Ashmore.
The UBW Championship match features Tommy Nova (C) vs Karl Atlas; the UBW Young Lions championship match features Luke Nukem (C) vs Drake Cavendish Wentworth
The Prodigy Paul Malen vs The Dark Angel of the North Sween; Mr Massive Chuck Cyrus vs Liam Hamlet, and more. Hot food and bar available.
Doors open 6pm, show runs 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Admission is adults £9, under 16s £6, group of 4 £28.
There is also opportunity to meet all the wrestlers after the show and have a photo with them and the title belts.
