A couple have covered their home with Christmas decorations to raise funds for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, a cause close to their hearts.

Liz and Graham Mayles have used everything from reindeers to inflatable snowmen and Santas on the roof, with a special woodland Christmas scene in the garden at their home in Wootton, with festive music playing in the background.

Their home is lit up every day and the initial fundraising total stood at £100 but they hope to raise much more.

Liz said: “We have had several friends who have been cared for at St John’s over the years. It’s lovely to see the children getting so excited and helping a great cause at the same time.

“My mum had cancer many years ago and for this year’s lights we really wanted to support a local charity and that’s why we chose Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice.”

Anyone who would like to pop by and leave a donation for the hospice is more than welcome at 54b, Hall End Road, Wootton, MK43 9HP.
