Find out about police work and what it takes to be on the force’s frontline during open day

The free event will take place on Saturday, September 5 from 11am until 4pm.

There will be a number of stands from different police departments as well as the opportunity to sign up to the force’s ride-along scheme and learn how to become a police officer.

There will also be plenty of other activities for adults and children, including a bouncy castle, a police dog demonstration and an opportunity to look inside different police vehicles.

Temporary Chief Constable Jon Boutcher said: “The family fun day is an opportunity for us to draw even closer links with the public, showcase some of the force’s specialist work and encourage people to think about a career in the force, either as a paid employee or as a volunteer.

“This promises to be a fantastic day. The public will have the opportunity to meet officers from our force and see vehicles from the police and other emergency services.

“We look forward to welcoming the public along to find out more about our work we do protecting people and fighting crime across the county.”
