Blunham’s Rose Queen Fete, which is organised by John Donne Lower School and the village church of St Edmunds or St James Church, will be held on Saturday, June 15.

The procession will start from Park Lane at 2pm, followed by the crowning of the 2013 Rose Queen, a dancing display by the school children and the opening of the fete.

There will be many traditional stalls and attractions, such as cream teas, cakes and garden produce. More modern attractions will include a barbecue, a bouncy castle, a dig for pirate treasure game and lob a loo roll.

Gardeners will also have a special place at the fete. The organisers will be holding the Best Garden Rose competition again this year.

They hope that there will be plenty of roses around by the time the fete is held.

There will also be a Dress the Vegetable competition for the children.

The Rose Queen fete celebrated its 60th anniversary last year. The Rose Queen is always chosen from Year 4 at the school.
