Halloween is also a time of light and fun

YOUNGSTERS looked to the light side of life on Monday.

Around 20 five to 12-year-olds shunned the typical darkness of All Hallows Eve and instead took the opportunity to celebrate at Gamlingay Baptist Church’s Jesus is Light party.

Reverend James Gilbert said: “It was something we hadn’t done before. We had slightly more children than we expected and it went really well. We felt that Halloween had become very focused on dark, miserable and negative things so we thought we would provide an alternative.”

The children dressed in colourful costumes and enjoyed light themed games and activities as well as a sausage and chip supper.

Reverend Gilbert added: “The kids enjoyed themselves so much that they didn’t want to go home. That’s when you know it has worked.”
