Have a chinwag for charity
A Big Chinwag is set to take place on Friday, June 20 to help raise funds for Age UK.
The Biggleswade charity shop will be featuring live music from The Hired Gunns between 1pm and 3pm. And from 10.30am until 3pm there will be the opportunity to find out more about the services for older people that Age UK Bedfordshire provides in this area. And there is a special offer for a cuppa at The Courtyard Cafe – pick up a leaflet in the shop.
Shop manager Dorota Phillips said: “We’re asking people to make their daily chinwag extra special by fundraising to help us tackle loneliness, which is a stark reality for too many older people.
“Every penny really does count - just £12 could pay for four older people to get out and enjoy a warm meal at a lunch club with friends.”
