Henlow Church of England Academy has been rated as 2 or good by Ofsted.

The rating comes in each of the key areas of leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching and achievement of pupils.

Since joining Henlow Academy in September, Headteacher Caren Earp has enjoyed getting to know the pupils and staff, building on the strengths of the school and striving to make improvements where necessary.

She said: “We are determined to focus upon all aspects of every child’s learning journey and monitor our progress, taking into account the views of all stakeholders.

“The framework for Ofsted inspections has changed since Henlow Academy’s 2012 visit and judgements are now more stringent.

“I hope that you will read our new inspection report in full and join us in appreciating the comments received on our unique strengths.”

Mrs Earp was quick to praise pupils, staff and parents and said: “First and foremost I would like to thank our pupils for the positive and energetic approach they adopt every day in our Academy.”
