Inventive scarecrows

Figures created from straw and other reused materials could be spotted around a town on Saturday and Sunday.

Stotfold Scarecrow Festival, organised by St Mary’s Church, was part of the town’s festival week.

The fun continues today (Friday) with a special library story time at 2.15pm. Stotfold Christian Choir will present a free evening of sacred music in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm. Tomorrow there is an art exhibition in the hall from 11am to 4pm. The festival fete will take place tomorrow from 1pm at the Hitchin Road Recreation Ground.

At 7pm tomorrow there will be a charity line dance in the hall. Tickets are £8 from Bridget on 01462 639279. On Sunday there will be a garage sale trail from noon to 4pm. Finally St Mary’s Academy Choir and the Salvation Army Band have a Songs of Praise style concert in the hall at 6pm on Sunday.
