With a forecast of dry spell and light winds the 14th annual International Kite Festival drew the crowds to Bedford over the weekend.
Kite flyers from across the globe descended on Russell Park to show off their latest creations, from small decorative kites to the giant characters and creatures.
Taking part were flyers from Vietnam, Germany and even as far as Australia, as well as home-grown experts.
The Borough Council-organised event also featured a host of fairground rides and attractions, including trampolines, a vintage carousel and inflatables.
Member for leisure and culture Cllr Sarah-Jayne Holland said: “It is fantastic that this annual event has become so popular.”
