Knight Fever set to come to Wrest Park

St George's Festival at Wrest Park
St George's Festival at Wrest Park

Celebrate St George’s Day at the country’s largest annual celebration at Wrest Park in Silsoe on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 from 10am to 6pm.

England’s patron saint will be celebrated with plenty of pomp, pageantry and patriotic flag waving, with a host of entertainers spanning 2000 years of history lined up to mark his special day and see the ultimate showdown with the dragon, at Wrest Park’s annual St George’s Day celebration.

Resplendent in shining armour and astride his noble steed, gallant St George and his attempts to slay the fearsome green dragon will be the highlight of the festival, which is English Heritage’s largest and longest running celebratory event.

Supporters can wave the flag for their favourite as they cheer for the valiant patron saint or the feisty fire-breathing dragon, in their display of courage.

With a packed programme offering much more than ever before this year, a special weekend ticket and early bird booking discounts, there are plenty of ways to get a historical fix and have a fun day out.

Nonsense and frivolity will be the order of the day with entertainers including the popular Peterkin the Jester, storytelling, Punch and Judy shows.
