A London Marathon runner from Biggleswade reached his target when he ran the race on Sunday.

James Drake managed to beat his goal of under four hours as he raised money for charity.

He told the Chronicle on Monday: “I feel slightly more human today - although I sort of wish I booked it as holiday!”

James ran the marathon and finished with a time of 03:56:55.

He said: “This was really good for me. My goal was to get under four hours so I’m chuffed it happened.”

This week he revealed that along with gift aid, and his company’s contribution, he has so far raised £2,590.

He said: “I am fundraising for Crohn’s and Colitis UK by running the London Marathon and New York Marathon this year.

James, who will continue his fundraising at Sainsbury’s in Biggleswade on Saturday, May 2, said he could barely run a mile a year ago.
