Doctor Monojit Choudhury and Paramedic Mark Glover flew to central Sandy, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, at 3pm after an elderly man suffered a cardiac arrest whilst out walking.

The patient was being given advanced life support by a consultant (usually based at Lister Hospital) who happened to be passing by - and an EEAST Ambulance Crew who were at the scene.

The Helimedix continued to provide the man with enhanced emergency medical care.

Sadly, despite all their best efforts, the patient was pronounced dead at the scene.

An EEAST RRV Paramedic, a St John’s Ambulance Crew and the Police were also present.
