Man hospitalised after three-vehicle collision

A man was hospitalised after a three-vehicle collision on the A1 on Monday (January 13).

The man was taken to Bedford Hospital by land ambulance after suffering leg injuries in the collision between a truck, van and car near Wyboston shortly after 8am.

Beds Fire and Rescue and an air ambulance crew from the Magpas Helimedix charity helped to free the man in his twenties from one of the vehicles after the collision on the southbound carriageway.

They administered advanced pain relief and on arrival at hospital he was said to be in a stable condition.

A man in his thirties and another man in his sixties were also assessed by medics, but only suffered minor injuries so they were treated at the scene.
