Marital bliss for TV interviewees!

A ROYAL Wedding reveller became the star of the show – when she was interviewed live on television.

Tracey Coxon, who had travelled to London from her home in Shefford on Friday (April 29), spoke to BBC presenter Chris Hollins at The Mall minutes before Prince William and Kate Middleton’s balcony kiss.

Sports presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing star Chris was speaking to members of the crowd that had gathered at The Mall. By chance he approached Tracey, 40, of Clifton Road, who was celebrating with her mother June Seagroatt, sister Emily Palmer and Emily’s daughters India 10, Rhia, eight and Fearne, three.

Chris asked Fearne if she had enjoyed the day and she nodded to the camera.

He then asked teacher Tracey, whose face was painted with a Union Flag, if she had enjoyed herself. Tracey – who also had a Union Flag wrapped around her and was wearing a Royal Wedding-themed hat – told him it had been worth the 3.45am start and said hello to the pupils she teaches at Ashtree School in Stevenage.

June told Chris that the nation had a new treasure in Kate Middleton.

The group almost had to turn down the interview with Chris as they were worried about missing the Royal Family’s balcony appearance. Because the coverage was being broadcast live Chris had to wait for his slot.

Tracey’s husband Steve, 40, who has himself stared in an advert for his employer, Comet, was watching at home with the couple’s 18-month-old son Dexy.

He said: “It was quite a surreal experience watching Tracey, June and the others being interviewed, I couldn’t quite believe it at first.

“It was like when you watch one of those real-life dramas on TV and you see somebody being interviewed.”
