It’s panto time again – oh yes, it is!
And the Meppershall Players pride themselves on not only never doing the same one twice – well, hardly ever – but also writing their own. Which are very well received, according to Players secretary Karen Mitchell, and she should know.
This year they’re presenting Robin Hood – with a twist. Panto lovers are advised to look out for newcomer Danny the Deer.
Karen said: “The retelling of Robin Hood holds all the adventure of the original story and all the characters you associate with Robin – Lady Marion, Friar Tuck, Little John and the Sheriff of Nottingham, – as well as some new ones.”
Will Robin be captured by the sheriff? Will Prince John be crowned King of England? Will Lady Marion find true love? Will Dame McNutty find her way out of the forest and will Danny be on the menu at Nottingham Castle?
For the answers to these questions and many more, don’t miss Robin Hood at Meppershall village hall tonight and Saturday (November 27 and 28), and Friday and Saturday (December 4 and 5). Evening performances starts at 7.45pm, Saturday matinees at 3pm.
The Saturday matinee on November 28 will be in support of Meppershall Pre-school.
