Middle schools in league tables

The schools are judged by their students’ results in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Key Stage Two (Year 6).

Scores show the percentage of children reaching the expected standard of a good Level 4 or higher in all three areas. They also show the percentage of pupils who reach Level 5, which is above average, or higher than Level 5.

Top of the Chronicle Country schools was Robert Bloomfield Academy in Shefford, where 76 per cent of students attained at least a good Level 4, known as 4B, and 23 per cent reached Level 5.

Next came Etonbury Academy in Arlesey with 67 per cent at Level 4B or above and 17 per cent at Level 5.

Burgoyne Middle School in Potton had 63 per cent of students at Level 4B or higher and 20 per cent at Level 5.

At Henlow Academy 58 per cent reached Level 4B and 16 per cent achieved at least Level 5. Edward Peake Middle School in Biggleswade came in with 53 per cent at Level 4B and 21 per cent at Level 5.

Sandye Place Academy in Sandy also had 53 per cent of pupils at Level 4B and it had 15 per cent at Level 5.

Next came Gamlingay Village College where 51 per cent of students reached Level 4B and 18 per cent got to Level 5.

The lowest score went to Biggleswade Academy, formerly known as Holmemead Middle School, where 46 per cent reached Level 4B and 13 per cent went on to Level 5 or higher.

At Gamlingay Village College 91 per cent of pupils made the expected progress in reading, 94 per cent in writing and 67 per cent in maths.

At Sandye Place the figures were 92 per cent for reading, 86 per cent for writing and 75 per cent for maths.

Robert Bloomfield’s scores were 85 per cent for reading and for writing, and 95 per cent for maths.

At Henlow Academy 83 per cent of pupils made the expected progress in reading, 88 per cent in writing and 81 per cent for maths.

At Etonbury Academy the scores were 77 per cent for reading, 94 per cent for writing and 83 per cent for maths.

Edward Peake’s scores were 81 per cent for reading, 94 per cent for writing and 81 per cent for maths.

At Burgoyne the scores were 76 per cent for reading, 96 per cent for writing and 76 per cent for maths.

And at Biggleswade Academy they were 79 per cent, 91 per cent and 67 per cent respectively.
