An open afternoon is to be held at Dunton Garden to attract more volunteers to help maintain the grounds.

The garden is run by volunteers and is in good shape but more workers are needed to keep it well tended and use it to the full.

During a coffee morning in May around 70 people enjoyed looking round the garden, buying refreshments, plants and produce. The trustees and volunteers would like to thank everybody for their generous support which raised some much needed funds.

The next open afternoon is on Sunday, July 19, from 2pm until 5pm. On Sunday, September 6, The March Hare Quiz Night will be raising funds and teams are needed for this evening event.

Among community activities the Young Gardener’s Group meets informally on some Saturdays but could do more with some more adult helpers taking part.

The garden is a great local community resource available to all. You can visit and take a picnic for a family afternoon or book a visit for a club or organisation.

It is open at any time but if you want to arrange to be shown around call 01767 313898 or for more information or visit www.duntongarden.org
