Jamie Milnes, 43, is asking residents to nominate essential workers whom they think deserve a special gift as a thank you for their dedication and courage.

The winner will receive a colourful A2 print of the London, New York, Paris or Singapore skyline, and Jamie filmed his first prize draw live on Facebook at the end of April.

Jamie said: “My wife is a key worker and her mum has friends who are key workers and used to be one herself.

“We’ve had so many nominations saying what a wonderful job people are doing. The response has been brilliant. There were a couple of people who had Covid-19 and have gone back to work. It’s a really tough job at the moment.”

Jamie is the sole director of Double Underscore Ltd, where he works as a web developer and graphic designer and had originally created the skyline designs for a company in Asia.

However, with Jamie “falling between the cracks” of government lockdown support, he set up shop online to sell the prints and boost income.

Jamie said: “My workload as a designer had dropped off, so I was thinking about ways of bringing in some cash. I set up shop but then realised that no-one was buying them - they’re not really essential.

“I thought, this is not the right way to go about this; what I really want to do is give something away to key workers; they are so deserving.

“My wife is my inspiration. She thinks of everyone before herself and has been supporting our neighbours. She’s amazing, she doesn’t stop.”

Jamie is offering one A2 print as the top prize, while five runners-up can win a pack of four postcards of all four prints. The main winner can choose their A2 print.

To nominate someone, search ‘Jamie Milnes’ on Facebook and comment on his public competition post (tagging your key worker and saying why they deserve to win) or Tweet Jamie via @doubleus
core and tag your key worker.

The competition closes on May 14 at 7.45pm before the clap. After, the winner will be drawn on live on Facebook.
