Health bosses reach disability standard again

A HEALTH trust has that covers Bedfordshire has met the required standards for employing disabled people.

The South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT) can continue using the Disability Two Ticks and Mindful Employer logos for another year.

Every year organisations are met by staff from the Job Centre Plus, to check that they meet standards such as interviewing all disabled job applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities, make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment, and ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness.

Dr Patrick Geoghegan OBE, chief executive of SEPT, said: “I am pleased SEPT has been awarded the Two Ticks and Mindful Employer re-accreditation symbols once again.

“It is one of the many ways we demonstrate commitment to creating a positive environment that encourages disabled people to seek and maintain employment with us.”
