The Sandy Posties Darts Challenge was held on Saturday, January 30, at the Queens Head to raise cash for The Avenue, the Biggleswade support group helping families with autistic children.

The group has raised more than £200 during the fun event when teams representing Sandy town deliveries, rural deliveries and Biggleswade got straight to the point and threw darts “around the clock” - with the town rounds coming out victors in a close fought contest.

A raffle concluded the evening with some prizes donated from local businesses. The organisers would like to thank The Queens Head, Pedals, Jagged Edge, Chunky’s, The Flower Room and Gunns Bakery for their generosity.

The Avenue holds relaxed, informal support groups where families can meet up with those who understand the highs and lows of living with a child with autism.

It is a positive friendly group where you can share tips, experience and knowledge. You can also view and buy helpful sensory and communication aids and pick up useful leaflets and handouts - all while enjoying a cup of tea. Visit theavenuesupport.co.uk
