Purrfect way to raise cash for charities

Laurie-Ann and Chris Benner of Church Street in Biggleswade will be raising money for Cats Protection Welwyn Hatfield District and Papworth Hospital.

The couple will be joined by Chris’ mother, Yvonne Benner, and Laurie-Ann’s father, Malcolm Smith. Chris’ father, Pete, will be driving alongside the walkers.

Laurie-Ann said: “My husband and I volunteer at the Cats Protection Welwyn branch, getting the cats used to people.

“Papworth is a fantastic hospital. They have looked after my grandad, dad and nan. We are on target for £2,500.”

The group began the walk earlier in the month but had to stop due to several close encounters with vehicles. They will resume the walk through the county’s scenic routes tomorrow.
