Raffle to raise money for cancer charity

A FAMILY who own a Shefford hair salon will be raising money for Cancer Research through a raffle.

Anna Baio, who runs Headlines in Shefford High Street with her cousin Vince hopes to raise £500 for the charity, and will be offering a knitted toy as the prize.

Mr Jingles is a Christmas snowman and he was knitted by Joyce Coward, a regular customer at the Headlines salon.

The winner of the raffle will be presented with their prize at the salon on Wednesday, December 21.

The family, who live in Bedford and have run the salon for more than 20 years are keen to support the charity after Anna’s son Domenic was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of seven.

Domenic won his battle against the disease and he has now been in remission for six years.

The family also raised £10,500 at a charity ball held in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in March last year in honour of Domenic.
