Railway users suffer delays

COMMUTERS faced severe delays after rodents damaged a cable.

The delays occurred on the London line from Kings Cross on Monday evening. Many travellers were four hours late. The rats had gnawed on a cable at Finsbury Park.

Trains had to be moved between signals and this meant frequent stops.

Among the commuters affected were those travelling to Arlesey, Biggleswade and Sandy. Normal signalling was resumed shortly after midnight.

First Capital Connect apologised and said that passengers can claim compensation.
