Reported for conduct

Sandy Town Council has reported Councillor Ken Lynch to the monitoring officer at Central Beds Council following his comments in an article published by this newspaper.

In November Mr Lynch accused the town council of deliberately lying about the number of cold calling signs in Sandy, an accusation which the council denied.

At a meeting in December Councillor Martin Pettitt said he had asked for an apology or public retraction but was not given one. Mr Lynch was previously reported in November for another alleged breach of the code of conduct.

Mr Lynch told the Chronicle that he was representing residents in his ward. Although he will not be at meetings he will continue to act upon any issue reported to him about his ward.
