Residential children’s home could open in a village

A residential children’s home will be opened in a village if a planning application is approved.

The application has been submitted to Central Beds Council requesting permission for change of use from a former adult residential care home in Everton.

The building is in Potton Road.

The home would house up to five children aged between 10 and 16 years of age.

The children would have emotional and behavioural difficulties and they would be cared for by skilled staff.

In her application, applicant Debbie Bavister wrote: “We want to be part of the community, not just an isolated home in the village. I am sure we can add value to the area rather than be seen as a worry to the residents.”
