Romancing the stone!

Students at a middle school learned about more than 1,000 years of history in a cross-curricular day.

Youngsters at Etonbury Academy in Arlesey were taught about maths, science, English, technology and the arts in a whole new way.

The Vikings were a focus of the day and students could take part in a special treasure hunt where the aim was to locate a missing Viking sunstone.

Students from Years 5 to 8 took part and were encouraged to work together to solve the mystery.

More than 70 clues and activities were put in place to challenge the students.

All of the separate challenges had to be completed before the location of the sunstone could finally be revealed.
