A pharmacy in Sandy, helped by loyal and long-standing customer Peter Emery, officially opened the doors to its modern approach to community health last week.
The store has been transformed as part of a large-scale roll-out across the UK and follows the recent launch of LloydsPharmacy’s wider initiative to deliver forward-thinking and flexible healthcare.
Sandy residents can now benefit from enhanced services for a range of conditions at the revamped store, with a particular emphasis on skin health and pain management.
Krupa Patel, Pharmacy Manager, said: “We’re excited by our transformation; we want our new store to become the destination of choice for customers looking for expert health advice.
“Our knowledgeable eight-strong team will be on hand to provide customers with individual expertise on skin health, helping those with skin conditions to effectively manage their condition with product selection support and application techniques.”
Pain management is an area where the Sandy pharmacy team will now offer enhanced support. Results from LloydsPharmacy’s pain control service show that 46 percent of customers have experienced improved pain after just four weeks of taking pharmacist’s advice.
“We know many who suffer from long-term health conditions don’t always want to go to their doctor every time they have a question,” Krupa added. “We’re able to support the work of GPs and other healthcare professionals in the area by offering convenient, one-to-one care that our local residents need and deserve.”
Complementing the forward-thinking approach to health, the store has undergone a modern make-over, providing customers with a bright and airy, relaxed environment in which to seek help and advice at ease.
The community pharmacy located on Market Square is the latest of more than 350 stores to complete the transformation. The steady rollout of revamped stores is set to continue in 2015, with 200 more planned before the end of the year, taking the total to more than 550.
LloydsPharmacy in Sandy is open from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday. To find out more, please visit 5 Market Square, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 1HU, and speak to a member of the pharmacy team.
At the heart of the initiative is the aim to ensure residents have access to expert health advice within their community, ensuring health services are readily available whether in-store or via the LloydsPharmacy online doctor service, where customers can seek advice for a range of health concerns via www.lloydspharmacy.com.
