The 49th Sandy Show is on the horizon and there will be entertainment for all the family.
The event, being held on Saturday, August 15, in the hall and grounds of Sandye Place Academy will judge entries in horticulture, cookery, craft, brewing and young persons sections.
Gates will open at noon with the hall opening at 12:30pm.
Steve Purchase, Secretary of Sandy & District Horticultural Association, said: “The Sandy Show is one day of the year when all the family can come along and enjoy an afternoon out and earn some kudos by winning or getting placed in one or more of the Show classes.
“Whilst the Show may not now attract the thousands of yesteryear, the aim is to reach and pass the 1,000 barrier during the opening hours.”
Entertainment at the event includes music by Stuart Clements, who will be playing during the afternoon, Punch and Judy with Professor Dumpling and, new for this year, an outside bar.
There will also be a tag rugby demonstration by Biggleswade Rugby Club on the Academy playing field and Mike Wilmott will be at the event with his classic cars.
There are fair rides and ice cream for children and a hot and cold refreshment stall, serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and a range of hot and cold snacks for the first time.
You can still enter the competition as entry forms are available from Sandy Library, downloadable from www.thesandyshow.org.uk or you can email a request to firstname.lastname@example.org
