Scale models roll up for exhibition day

Wonderful scale models go on display at an exhibition being staged at the Shuttleworth Collection next month.

The Scale Model Exhibition is being held at the venue at Old Warden on Sunday, February 28, from 10am until 4pm.

Organiser Kevin Panter, of the Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society (SVAS), said: “Come along to this year’s scale model exhibition at Shuttleworth and enjoy the range of exhibits from aircraft to vehicles and rail.

“The judges last year had a hard time choosing the best as there were so many great models on display!”

A modelling competition being held has six categories:-

Best 1/72nd and smaller

Best 1/48th and smaller

Best over 1/48th

Best model of a Shuttleworth aircraft or vehicle

Best model made by a person aged under 16

John Morris Memorial Trophy awarded to best model in show as decided by the organising committee.

There will be a range of trade stands on offer and admission price includes entry to the collection. Shuttleworth restaurant will also be open. No dogs or smoking inside the hangars. Parking is free, and disabled parking is available.
