Sophie the dinosaur certainly made impressive footprints when she arrived at Stondon Lower School - the creature was so big the pupils had to greet her on the playground, along with her brother Jack.
Sophie represents the size that a T-Rex would have grown to by the age of seven, and after her visit, each year group had the opportunity to take part in a archaeology workshop where they discovered bones and identified them.
Pupil Charlie said: “I thought the large dinosaur was really cool and I was frightened for a moment when she put her head around the corner. We also had a session looking at fossils.”
Thomas said: “I liked the T Rex fossil skull, it still had its teeth, and I liked the skull of the Camrosaurus because it was a plant eating dinosaur with shredding teeth. It was an exciting day.”
