Store still in pipeline
TESCO has confirmed that it is still intending to build a supermarket in Sandy.
Members of the public were concerned that work has not yet begun on the New Road site. This was caused by delays in the planning application process.
A spokesman for Tesco said: “We are grateful for the huge swell of public support we received for our plans for Sandy earlier this year and we remain committed to building a store in the town as soon as possible.
“The delay has been caused by a slight variation in conditions which we are currently negotiating with the council.”
