Swimmers dive in for Rotary fundraiser

Swimmers in Biggleswade have been making a splash for good causes.

The Rotary Club of Biggleswade held their annual swimathon at the Saxon Pool on Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5.

Seventeen very enthusiastic teams took part over the two days, swimming sponsored lengths to raise money for a charity of their choice and also raising in excess of £2,500 for Rotary charities and good causes.

The Biggy Water Polo Team swam the most lengths, totalling 132.

The Harry Potter Studio Tour Draw was won by a member of the team swimming for St Bartholomew’s Church at Great Gransden.

Barbara Hazell said: “The Rotary Club would like to thank everyone involved, the staff at Saxon Pool, all those that ‘swam for cash’ and everyone who sponsored the members of the teams for making it such a success.

“We look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
