Residents in Potton have been preparing for Christmas and are planning the big lights switch on, set for Friday, November 27 at 7pm.
A team of volunteers met in the town square to erect the lights which are now all set up and tested. A Christmas tree will be put up in the corner of the square opposite the George and Dragon.
Potton Town Council chairman Peter Langridge said: “This was a record achievement, with many new and additional lighting features to be fitted this year.
“In the past the whole operation has taken three and sometimes four very long weekends to complete with the usual volunteers. This year, with some new faces involved able to climb ladders, and with the considerable help of Andy Fenton, the operation was achieved in one short weekend. I would like to thank all those who turned up and contributed in many ways to this magnificent achievement. I am sure when the lights are switched on the whole town will appreciate their efforts.”
