Visitors are in for a double whammy at Stotfold Watermill’s Great Bake-off on Sunday (September 27).

They’ll not only have the chance to sample some of the delicious entries, but they’ll also be able to help find the winners in each section.

The event starts at 12.30pm and if you’d like to be a judge, there’s a £1 fee, payable on the day.

Judging closes at 3.45pm and prizes will be awarded half an hour later.

Anyone who’s been to the bake-off before will know how stunning many of the entries are and how much they enjoyed tasting them.

Under 16 categories include cup cake making and decorating as well as bread and traditional or tray bake cakes.

Entrants over 16 will be competing for the best in three categories – traditional cakes, including sponges and fruit cakes; speciality or technical cakes and gateaux; patisserie and hand or machine-made bread.

The milling team will also be grinding quality stone ground flour which is on sale in the gift shop alongside locally-sourced arts, crafts and products.

The Mill is a charity and all funds raised go towards its upkeep and maintaining the adjoining nature reserve.
