The 39-year-old arborist will be competing in the Stihl Timbersports British Championship in Yorkshire.

The event is part of the CLA Game Fair taking place at Harewood House from Friday, July 31 until Sunday, August 2

Chris has been practising timbersports since 2009 and has been in the British team since 2012.

He said: “I love competing in timbersports, especially the stock saw and single buck which are my favourite disciplines. Lumberjacks have to be focussed, determined and committed.”

Stihl Timbersports started 30 years ago in the USA and arrived in Britain in 2012 with the country’s first British Championship.

Lumberjack sports origins go back to 19th century Australia where foresters would compete with each other outside work, putting their forestry skills to the test.
