A top 40 UK accountancy firm has launched Made in Bedfordshire to showcase the county’s manufacturing expertise.
Organised by Bedford-based Streets Chartered Accountants, in conjunction with Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce and supported by Business 2 Business magazine, Made in Bedfordshire seeks to celebrate the areas’ manufacturing efforts whether it is by a small artisan producer selling locally or a large business selling overseas.
James Pinchbeck, marketing partner at Streets Chartered Accountants, said: “As a well established accountancy practice looking after businesses, and more specifically manufacturers in the county of Bedfordshire, we recognise the importance of the sector not only to our local economy but the national one too. We also provide support to manufacturing businesses that are seeking specialist tax advice, looking to grow, develop and improve their financial performance.
“Whether it is modesty or simply lack of awareness, the profile of what is produced and by whom in Bedfordshire doesn’t seem to receive the recognition it deserves. We are delighted to be working with the Chamber and Business 2 Business magazine to have developed the idea of Made in Bedfordshire. We are really looking forward to showcasing and celebrating the county’s manufacturing capabilities.”
Cheryl Smart, CEO at Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce commented: “Made in Bedfordshire promises to showcase all the fantastic goods that are created and made here on home soil. Little is known about the true number of local innovative goods manufactured here in Bedfordshire and this is going to be a great opportunity to spread the word and recognise our great business achievements.”
The nominees and overall celebrants will be announced at the Made in Bedfordshire celebration on Thursday, June 11 at the Woodland Manor Hotel in Clapham.
The Judging panel will include representation from Streets Chartered Accountants, Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce, UKTI and Business 2 Business magazine.
