Motorists are advised to avoid the A1 southbound between Sandy and Biggleswade after reports of a collision.
A Beds Police spokesman said: "We are currently dealing with a collision on the A1 southbound between Sandy and Biggleswade.
"The road has been closed and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
"We will update this message as soon as we can. Thank you for your cooperation."
