Fitness classes are to be run at Jordans Mill early in the new year to help beat the Christmas bulge.
Local trainer Jeff Beck will be running the sessions which will offer the chance to improve fitness and wellbeing, as well as shed those excess pounds.
The classes at the historic mill in Broom will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6am to 7am and on Saturdays from 7am to 8am. The course costs £45 for 12 sessions and is suitable for people of varying fitness levels and abilities. The first class is on Monday, January 4.
Fit Happens is the brainchild of Jordans Mill’s Tom Baker, an Army veteran and now site manager at the Bedfordshire heritage attraction. Tom’s Army training instilled a strong sense of fitness discipline which extends to healthy eating as well as exercise, a discipline that is linked closely to Jordans Mill’s own ethos.
Tom said: “Jordans Mill has a long history of producing healthy foods starting first with flour milling and then the production of oat based cereals and snacks, and through our Riverside Café, Mill Gardens and now Fit Happens we are continuing this focus on a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle.
“I have a personal interest in fitness and exercise and so have teamed up with Jeff to offer accessible and fun fitness classes to our customers. We know that lots of people like to start the new year with good intentions and we hope that Fit Happens will encourage people to keep them up.”
