Village school continues to be '˜good' says Ofsted

John Donne Church of England Lower School in Blunham continues to be ‘good’ in a report just published.

The continued success of the lower school was confirmed by Ofsted following an inspection in January.

The team of staff say they are pleased with the report, especially as they prepare to become a primary school in September. They have recently appointed new staff members ready for this new venture.

The Ofsted inspector said: “The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.

“I was impressed by the environment for learning that staff create - with attractive, high quality and striking displays of pupils’ work in classrooms and corridors.”

The pupil’s hard work and pride in their achievements was also recognised and praised in the report.

The flexible early years provision was described as “a warm caring environment, engaging and well resourced”.

A school spokeswoman said: “The traditional values and achievements of this village school are celebrated within the community and demonstrated in their Forest School adventure, accessed by the children every afternoon. All visitors are welcomed into this happy thriving school.”
