Three libraries will be holding special sessions inspired by the boy wizard, where children will have the chance to make everything from their own Hogwarts tie to an owl money box.

The events will take place in Biggleswade on Saturday, February 7 where there will be an all-day drop-in, at Sandy library on Thursday, February 5 and Saturday, February 7 where there will be an all-day drop-in and at Shefford library on Thursday, February 5 between 4:15pm and 5:15pm.

There will also be the chance to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake at a series of tea parties to coincide with National Libraries Day on Saturday, February 7.

Councillor Ian Dalgarno, Deputy Executive Member for Communities, said: “I’m constantly spellbound by the amount of fantastic things taking place in our libraries, and the Harry Potter events are bound to provide wizard fun for children.

“For anyone who is yet to find out just what our libraries have to offer, I would urge you to join on February 7.

“Not only could you win a mystery prize, you will also be able to access a huge array of books, ebooks, newspaper and magazines.”

Anyone wishing to join the library needs to bring in one form of identification with their name and address, such as a driving licence or utility bill, while under-16s should bring proof of their parent’s name and address.
