Biggleswade move back into second

Biggleswade are back in second place in the Herts League after victory at Haileybury.

Following last week’s defeat at top of the table Radlett they travelled to second place Haileybury knowing a victory would put them back in the promotion places.

Paul Hunt at string five had a comfortable 3-0 victory over Paul Gandolfo winning his match in less than 15 minutes (15-5, 15-3, 15-10).

Marcus Gray at string four lost the first game to Karl Pyle 15-11 but then rediscovered his recent good form to take the next three games comfortably (15-5, 15-5, 15-6).

Dan Easton at string three once again had another tough match and at 2-1 down against Andrew Humphries needed to dig deep. Dan won the fourth 15-7 to level the match and following an epic fifth game saw Biggleswade to victory with a 16-14 win.

Owen Ledger at number two took the first game 15-13 against David Gandolfo but then lost the next three (15-4, 15-7, 15-6).

Jay Ledger at string one won a tight first game 16-14 against Adam Clark and then went on to take the next two games comfortably (15-6, 15-9). Result: Biggleswade 4 (18) Haileybury 1 (6)

With four games remaining promotion remains in their own hands. The next game is a cup semi-final against Bishops Stortford 3.
