This event comprises a fivemiler on the Friday evening, followed by a 8.1 mile cross-country race on the Saturday culminating in a half marathon on the Sunday.

Some say it’s tougher doing a full marathon over 3 days than doing it in one go

Giles Hawthorn, Pete Lawson, Richard Barker, Andy Hedley and Georgia Barker completed all three races and, following a great run on Friday night, Peter Howell was awarded the trophy for winning the over 65 veteran category.

Eight Biggleswade AC athletes took part in the Marston Forest 5K on Friday evening. This is a popular and pleasant course that takes place on paths around at the Vale of Marston visitors centre. Outstanding performances on the night were from Ryan Smith who finished 11th and Michael Blunt 23rd.

Biggleswade AC’s hurdler, Euan Dickson-Earle, was in action again last weekend at the England Athletics U20/U23 Championships at Bedford. This event is the biggest opportunity ahead of the World Youth Championships in Oregon in July.

Euan finished second in his heat, and was expected to be part of a thrilling final. However, just after clearing the third hurdle, Euan was forced to pull up owing to a problem with his hamstring. Hopefully this won’t have ruined his chances of a place on the team;

On Sunday, June 15 Biggleswade AC participated in an Eastern Young Athlete’s League match at Hendon.
