Arlesey Town were not able to build on Saturday’s excellent victory when they lost at home to leaders Poole Town on Tuesday.
Goals either side of half time from Whisken and Walsh gave the visitors a 2-0 win to leave the Blues lying third from bottom of the Southern League Premier Division.
However they had given their chances of survival a real boost with a 3-1 success at Chesham United on Saturday.
The game came to life early on with Jack Vassey putting Arlesey in front after just seven minutes. Little levelled for Chesham just three minutes but on 12 minutes Vassey struck again to give Arlesey a half time lead.
Inih Effiong settled matters with Arlesey’s third 20 minutes before the end.
Arlesey head to Cirencester on Saturday, March 28.
